Tattoos have always been a means of expressing yourself and who knows it better than our celebrities who have been flaunting their tattoos ever since. But, sometimes inking could turn out to be controversial. Now Priyanka Chopra inking Daddy’s little girl ‘and Saif Ali Khan flaunting Kareena’s name on his hand, shows their love for their dad and wife respectively. However, there are few celebrities whose tattoos are not just too distant from making sense to the fans, but the controversies they attracted, takes the story on another level. Sometimes celebrities go overboard with their tattoo obsession which in return makes their fans say WTF!
Justin Bieber’s face tattoo
For Justin Bieber, controversy is a routine thing as the popular pop star has a trail of controversies attached to his name. But the new one is not about Selena Gomez or any other girl, but his face tattoo. Now, we don’t know what popped into Bieber’s mind, while he thought of making this tattoo, which is a teeny tiny cross inked below his left eye. While Beiber shaving his head impressed the fans, this tiny cross tattoo has attracted a controversy of its own. Justin’s tattoo artist Jonboy revealed that his tiny cross means his journey in finding purpose with God, which out of nowhere evoked a controversy followed by people's judgements and remarks. Well now having a tattoo and its associated meaning is a personal choice. We do agree that sometimes tattoos can hurt people, but how can getting a cross inked, hurt religious sentiments merely because of its meaning?
Angelina Jolie's famous tattoo hurt Buddhist sentiments
Angelina Jolie knows how to turn heads and she made her fans crazy with her back tattoo. Her tattoo basically is a Khmer script inked by Thai tattoo master Noo Kampai. Though the tattoo received a huge fan following with many copying it, the Buddhists from Thailand were offended. The Thai masters believe that the foreigners don't know the spiritual meaning behind such tattoos and hence hurt their religious sentiments. Well, don't know of her fans, but Angelina's purpose behind her controversial tattoo was indeed spiritual.
Chris Brown’s anti-women tattoo
Known for his aggressive nature and ugly split with Rihanna, Chris Brown’s neck tattoo truly defined his wild ways. The controversial tattoo that was inked on his neck showed a beaten up woman and is known to be the worst celebrity tattoo ever. Well, though the singer denied its link with Rihanna, the tattoo inked post his break-up, really attracted a lot of controversies. Now, this tattoo can be termed unacceptable as in general it hurts sentiments of the female gender.
Miley Cyrus inked where no one would ever imagine
Miley’s distress in life trapped her in controversies, her tattoo love added fuel to the fire. Now, no one could ever imagine inking inside their mouth. But, this weird idea popped up in the brain of Miley Cyrus. After her twerking act and the on and off relationship with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, television’s favourite Hannah Montana, got a crying cat face just below her inner lower lip. Now, did that mean, she was trying to hide her emotions behind her craziness? Well, though inked at an unusual area, the controversial tattoo does speak a lot.
Well, while some celebrities like Suzanne Khan, have corrected their tattoos post their split, there are few who flaunt it even today irrespective of a split or associated controversy.
Thus, though everyone has a right to ink what they feel or follow, and religion has nothing to do with such a personal expression, but how far this bizarreness could be taken is still a question.
