Boycott of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ must to cut all ties with Pakistan

After the Uri-attack, a complete cut-off with Pakistan has become our sole mantra. And the first initiative towards same is the total ban of Pakistani artists for which ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ is one of the necessary steps.

But, Bollywood and the media seems divided on the ban of the upcoming Karan Johan movie, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Aihwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma. While there are people who believe as an Indian, the film must be banned, but there are a few who are condemning the ban, saying that artists are usually soft targets of a political agenda.

Well, to remind you it all started with Karan Johar not supporting the ban of Pakistani artist, initiated by MNS party in India.

The filmmaker had said to a leading channel, “I understand the anger and the anguish that surround us and I empathise, my heart bleeds for the lost lives. There is nothing that can justify this terrible feeling of terror. Then you are faced in a situation such as this (asking for ban on Pak artistes). If this was truly a solution, one would take it. But this is not a solution. I don’t believe it is. The larger forces have to come together and sort the situation and this cannot be banning talent or art.”

Apart from Karan, superstar Salman Khan had also opposed the ban saying that Salman had said, “There is a difference between artistes and terrorists and Pakistani artistes come to India on visa so, they should not be banned.”

Both Karan and Salman faced a huge backlash. From Ajay Devgn to Ejaj Khan, including the MNS, criticized their opinion and this lead to two camps in Bollywood, the one’s that want Karan’s film to be released, while the others find it essential to ban it.

Ajay Devgn had an upfront reply on banning of Pakistani actors in the country, as he said, “Not at the moment I am very clear on this because you are an Indian first. I don't care if my film doesn't release in Pakistan. Their artistes are standing by their nation. They are earning here but are sticking by their nation. We should learn from them.”
Also, when asked to comment on Salman Khan and Karan Johar’s take on the issue, "It's saddening. You need to take a stand," the actor further added.

Veteran actor Nana Patekar also had a point to make while supporting the ban on Pakistani artists as he said, “Pakistan, artistes come later. My nation comes first. I don’t know anyone except my country and don’t want to know anything else. Artistes are small insects in front of the nation; we are worth nothing compared to the country. I don’t want to know what Bollywood says. I was in the army for two years. Our Jawans are the real heroes.”

Well, after going through the take of both the groups, the main motto as an Indian lies to completely ban the films featuring Pakistani actors. It’s high time to realize that it is the sacrifice of our soldiers, who guard those borders so that we lead a carefree life no matter what profession we are in. And when they take a bullet to save our lives, it’s unfair on their sacrifice if we allow Pakistani artists and films like ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ to prosper in our country.

Hence, the boycott of the this Karan Johar film as a true patriot is a must to set an example for the forthcoming generations to consider the bundle of talent our country has rather than the Pakistani artists.

Spreading from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and, the art forms here have their own significance. But amid the noise of many there are certain masterpieces of craft that are losing ground and heading towards extinction. So, let’s take a look at this treasure of ancient traditional artistry from the Kitty of Incredible India.

Art of Puppetry

Holding roots for more than 3000 years, puppetry is an ancient art form of India. Various forms of puppetry like shadow puppetry from Kerala, Kathaputli from Rajasthan and Kundhei from Orissa etc., are present since ancient times that is hardly known to anyone in the country. And seeing the neglect they have been receiving, the day is not far when this art form won’t exist in India.

Manjusha paintings

Holding the reputation of being the only art form in India that is displayed in series, each representing a story within it, Manjusha paintings is an artistic treasure of India. Having originated in Anga Pradesh, which is the modern day Bihar, this art form prospered during the British rule. But, amid the 20th century, this art aesthetic started witnessing a downfall. Fortunately, the Bihar government is trying to revive this craft and patent it as Bhagalpur folk art.

Toda embroidery

Coming from the Toda tribe, which comprises of a bunch of 2000 people residing in the Nilgiri Hills, Toda embroidery is another art form that’s shouting out loud for our attention. This embroidery is one of its kind because it is done on cloth with square-shaped deceptions that are unique. Be it on wallets, bed sheets, stoles or cell phone pouches, you will find that embroidery done on them is one of its kinds.

Naga handicraft

The Nagas are famous for their deep-rooted culture, which is depicted through their art forms and craft. The tribe is known for making interesting handicraft items made from wood, cane and other readily available material from the nearby forest. Their handicrafts comprise of baskets, bowls, and decors, carved benches, shawls scarves and bags. Though, the tribe promotes their craft in expos yet their products are far from the reach of the major population of the country and can soon be lost in the crowd of many advanced ones.

Roghan painting

Roghan painting is another ancient treasure of India. For seven generations now, the Khatri family living in the Kutch area of Rajasthan has been the practitioners of this art. But, today with only seven surviving people in India doing this painting, the historic family fears that this ancient art of theirs would fade away seeing the impatience of the future generation. This unconventional form of art is executed on fabric with castor oil, paints and a 6-inch thin metal rod. The paintings are expensive and hence are generally purchased by foreigners.

Patola saris

Patola saris, that have part ikat work, are considered to be one of the most expensive saris in the world. Each classic Patola sari can survive for about 300 years while retaining its color. It requires about four to six months to make a sari, with more than 70 days required for the coloring of the silk threads, and about 25 days are essential for its weaving. About 12people work for two years on the material that forms about 27 Patola saris. Also the costliest sari is priced at a whopping Rs. 7 lakh. Currently only four Gujarati families pursue this complex and time consuming work of art and fear that this tradition won’t last for long.

Due to the lack of women practicing this art, Mithila painting is one of the paintings that is on the verge of extinction from the country.

Dhokhra handicraft

Dhokhra handicraft is a wax casting technique practiced by tribes belonging to the Bastar region, a district in Chhattisgarh. This ancient art holds its roots India for being more than 4,000 years old. One of the earliest known dhokra artifacts is the dancing girl of Mohenjo-daro. Though having a great demand in domestic and foreign markets owing to their primitive simplicity, enchanting folk motifs and forceful form, yet a fear of lack of advanced technology and people alarm the fate of this fine art of India.

Where’s the love?

Full moon night, breezy atmosphere, that beachside restaurant, a romantic background score, couple dance, candlelight dinner, cozying up, a real sweet kiss…etc., Didn’t you get the zest of a complete romantic date? Yeah..anyone would, as it sounds but didn’t you find something missing? Well, it did irk me as I questioned myself, where is the love?

Such is the scenario of relationships today. Driven by lust, the need of time, obsession, and mutual benefit, the real essence that binds two people together is actually lost somewhere in the so called love and relationships today. As you surf through our blog, you will not only believe that the definition of love has changed today but will surely end up asking yourself, where is the love?

It makes you look ‘Cool’

“I don’t love her, nor do we have any plans to settle down, but it adds to my popularity man,” said a friend of mine. Gone are those days, when wearing those sexy clothes, riding those hot bikes and driving those expensive cars made you look cool. I mean they do matter, but being in a relationship today is also said to add to your coolness quotient. It’s more like a cool status tag people carry around.

Intimacy and Sex

This is one of the key reasons that form the foundation of many relationships today. While in earlier times intimacy and affairs based on lust was a thing of either the elite class or the ones from villages. But, today the urban youth is no way behind in getting intimate and satisfying their sexual desires for which a relationship has become the ultimate doorway. But, the negative part is, as the intimacy and mutual desire benefit of such relationships is over, these relations also fade faster than they began. Yet, who cares as the majority of the young population just cares for intimacy and sex only. And the ones who really believe in love are the alien people existing on this planet.

Mutual need

Now intimacy and sex is not only that one thing that keeps two people together today as there are other things that matter too. Wait; don’t get mistaken for love but the idea of the mutual benefit of being together. See you stay away from home, parents; you need a shoulder, a companion, someone to share in your financial needs. You do have friends and pocket money also but still, you need that one person to sum-up your hectic stressful life.

Dating is in fashion

Well, for our generation, fashion changes with seasons but dating season is any time on. It is actually a new fashion in town and everyone is obsessed with it. So, next time if you hear a ten-year-old going out on a date with his girlfriend, don’t be shocked as dating is in fashion today though love is outdated.

Being single is a crime

Now, one of my friends has been single for years. Isn’t it an awesome thing for a guy to adore? But, actually speaking in today’s tine it is kind of the opposite. In current times, being single for a long time is actually a sign of worry not for others but the person concerned too. This is because you are judged for either not getting a boyfriend or a girlfriend, incapable, or not really normal and this is the ideology is of the educated class.

Dating apps

There was a time when our great grandparents didn’t even know what a shaadi.com was, our parents would still prefer our family matchmaker to it. But, hail the technology for going aboard and making some apps called dating apps. Wait, these are not the ones that give you advice on how to date but the once that actually help you to chat and meet up that guy or girl you want to hook up with. And we still thought to chat existed only on Facebook. With such handy options as Tinder, Matchify, Badoo etc. available, don’t you think the real idea of a relationship is lost as you have so many options to date and no guarantee of trust and loyalty, while love has no place here?

It is a part of growing up

As kids, we did all that mischiefs and it was ok we were forgiven for being kids. Now, similarly, being in a relationship, I mean love and dating, is a part of your teen and early twenties. As in if you don’t date, how your gonna know what a relationship is, you grow as you explore. And this has been taken dam seriously by our youth as it is a platform for them to explore the opposite sex until at some older age they actually end up knowing what love is.

When Rahul couldn’t resist saying, “Main Aisa Kyu Hoon"!

When the son of our very own late Prime Minister, Rajeev Gandhi was introduced to the world, we thought, we got a new successor to the Gandhi dynasty and of course for Congress. But, for all who thought that Rahul Gandhi was the future of Indian politics, we had nothing but get disappointed because instead of a leader we got mommy Soniya’s idiot and useless son ‘Pappu’. Well, and if you wanna check some adventurous side and bravery of this Gandhi kin, then you must check out the listicle and ROFL.

1. Sleeping or Meditation?

Well, it is easy to doze anywhere, but it takes courage for someone to take a nap in a Parliament session and that too when you are being aired on a national television. And Rahul being a smart ass, though he was actually sleeping, he told us that he was doing meditation and that bafoon thought we believed him.

2. Jai Hanuman

When Hanuman donned a Gada, we admired our superhero but when our very own Pappu decided to follow in his shoes, he looked more like a gadha! I hope you’ve understood what we meant.

3. Mamma’s Boy!

The world is busy dating and some are on the verge of getting married. But, who will tell Rahul that he should also get hitched? And when momma Soniya thought that her dear son was chatting with a girl, that idiot was actually playing Candy crush.

4. Bhai ka fan

Jab Salman said, “Ek baar jo maine commitment kit oh main apne aap ki bhi nahi sunta,” tab his statement sounded like Dabanng, But, when Rahul Gandhi voiced his commitment, we couldn’t control our laughter as he still hasn’t stood by any!

5. Gosh! He also thinks!

It was indeed a shock for us when we found that Rahul has brains and he also uses them to think. And the most amazing part was that NASA came down to India as they wanted to research on this alien discovery.

6. Mr. Bean?

Remember getting annoyed by Mr.Bean. Dude that man always got on my nerves, yet we loved him. But, what you wanna say of our Indian version of Mr.Bean? I think Mr. Bean was also not that dumb.

7. Bhangara was introduced by him

We all are acquainted with Rahul’s awesomeness, but we just discovered that Rahul also knows to dance and that too Bhangra. But, when we decided to make him groove to this desi dance, Yo Yo Honey Singh and Baadshah got offended. Also, Daler Mehndi and Mika were all set to lodge a complaint against Rahul because they thought even Santa Banta knew what Bhangra is!!!

8. Ek Chutki Sindoor

When Deepika Padukone had that ‘EK Chutki Sindoor’ moment, she made everyone fall in love with her. But, imagine Rahulji enacting Deepy?? God... It looked like he was expecting to be cast in Om Shanti Om 2??? Farah… We hope you’ve seen it…

9. He is popular among women!

That day when I heard my maid praising Rahul Gandhi, I thought at least those kaamwalis are a huge fan of pappu bichaara. But, when we came across this picture of his, it was more of Rahul being the best sorority sister Gauri’s ever had..

10. And they say, we copied in exams

Years back in school, when teacher used to scold us for peeping into our neighbors answer paper, we were like, ‘Mam, we aren’t copying!’ Well, all high school teachers must check out this picture of Rahul Gandhi who even copies his speech from his phone!!!
