Beef ban: The unheard voice their opinion on Bombay High Court’s recent verdict!

The recent upholding of certain sections of the beef ban, by the High Court, has relieved the beef lovers to some extent. While HC has taken into consideration the eating habits of the minority, fear has been cited that the ban on slaughter would limit the consumption as it would be imported from another state.
Now, we always hear those political reactions and public comments. So we thought of interviewing those whose voice is never heard, yet important.

Hens and Goats were relieved

For the past one year, the pressure of meat production had come on the tiny hens and lambs due to the beef ban. Due to which the responsibility of feeding both the minorities as well as the meat lovers, had come on their shoulders. One of the hens, who was dancing out of happiness said, “I’m very happy that the ban on the consumption of beef is withdrawn and our community has less pressure of production now.”  The goats were also seen partying and cherishing the HC’s decision.

Tigers and other carnivores were in tears

Well, we also interviewed another beef consuming population of Maharashtra, the tigers and lions of Sanjay Gandhi national park. One of the tigers said, “It has been a year that we have been surviving on hen and lambs. But, it is an emotional moment for us and we are happy that we can eat our favorite beef.”

Talking about the not allowing of slaughter, one of the lions said, “I have been eating McChicken burger for past one year which was also given once a week. But dude, I’m happy as I will finally be able to feast on juicy Barbeque Beef. But, I hope the already sky soaring taxes on it, are not increased as the beef will be imported from outside Maharashtra.”

Holy cows had become Hindutva volunteers

Fellow cows also had something to say. They seemed happy and sad both. Of course, the ban on consumption of bull and bullocks saved their ass, but they pretended to be concerned for their fellow mates. One such cow’s swag seemed like some Hindutva volunteer. In a failed attempt to try and hide her happiness, she said , “We are holy and sacred and only deserve to be worshiped. I’m happy that the government hasn’t played their yes – no game on us. But, I’m sad for the bulls and bullocks. I suggest them not to leave Maharashtra to prevent their slaughter. ”

Carnivores from jungle seemed least bothered

Hmm..everyone in Maharashtra had their share of say on the beef ban. But we thought we were missing to hear from the carnivores residing in the jungle. While on our way, of course in a protected forest vehicle, we saw some lions feasting on a bull. When we stopped our vehicle and questioned them of how were they eating the bull after slaughtering it, one of the lions shouted, “How would everyone know, until you media people go out and make it a news? Now you want us to go to Karnataka, hunt a bull and come and dine in Maharashtra?” Well, that was quite sensible.

The Bulls from jungle seemed neglected

As we moved further in another corner of the jungle, we found a hound of bulls. We asked them if they were happy as their slaughter was ban in Maharashtra. On this one bull came ahead and said, “That rule may make the city bulls and bullocks happy. Has the government forgotten to put a ban on the slaughter of bulls and bullocks residing in the jungle?”

Well, these were some reactions we got from the unheard population of Maharashtra. We hope the government acknowledges their problems too.
