Oye! It’s Friday, but today we are refraining from the old tradition and calling it don’t fry day. Well, I know you may think that we are talking about weight loss and cutting on oily food. But, this day, which is celebrated in the USA every year on a Friday prior to the Memorial Day, bears no connection to diet control and is a day dedicated to skin cancer prevention. Being an initiative of the national council on skin cancer prevention, this day encourages people to say no to the deadly sun rays and adopt ways to take solace from the sunshine. But wait, we aren’t bombarding you with those routine tips of wearing a sunscreen, carrying a hat or a scarf, etc., but giving you some cool tips to take a break from some sunshine. So, why not dive into the party mode at home itself. What about a beach party at your personal pad? Sounds cool na? Then follow some cool ideas of ours to transform your home into a not so sunny beach and go partying.
Give the feel of a beach
Well, since the theme is a beach party, dressing your house in the guise of a beach is a must and don’t worry as it is quite simple. Firstly ensure you have brought enough sand. Then empty cartons and make square containers with fencing on all four sides. Make as many as you want, but place at least six-to-eight square boxes together and then add sand to it. Well, your mini beach is ready now. You can also keep one box filled with sand each, at the corners of your house and add decoratives like shells, artificial starfishes, crabs etc. You can also keep flower or plant pots on them.
The decorations to make
Now, you can cut out or paint and stick colourful posters all over the walls of your home, that have the beach, the sun, coconut trees, drinks, food and other bohemian paintings. Use the colours that are bright yet pleasant. Make cardboard cut-outs of coconut trees and place it in the sand and surround it with coconuts. Use foldable armchairs as beach chairs and keep them assembled in a row. Then place a beach umbrella near each chair. Your beach beds are ready. Don’t forget to keep towels there. Also, keep bananas, coconuts and other fruits at every corner, either in bowls or in the sand. Your home has almost transformed into a beach.
The artificial sea
Well, since it is a beach party, you and your guest must feel like that you are on a beach for which a sea is a must. Now, you can’t bring the sea home, but an artificial one is a cool idea. So pump up the inflatable pools with air to give the feel of a sea. Ensure that you keep one big inflatable pool in the main party area and keep one or two small pools at wherever it is feasible. Surround them with sand, shells, and water floaters. Also, put a small water boat in the big pool along with water balls, floaters etc. Also, add shells, artificial fishes to the pools.
The food to feast one
Now, make a buffet arrangement for the cuisine by placing a long table at a corner say near the big pool. Make an arrangement for barbeque and give the feel of barbeque chicken by placing it in the sticks on the barbeque deck. Add other beach delicacies like plates of fruits, fried chicken and other meat, deep fried meatballs, prawn and fish dishes. Ensure the food is a more starter-like and not heavy as we just need it while drinking like crazy and not puke by having the main course. Also, keep desserts and other beach varieties to feast on. Lastly, keep these in bulk as it should suffice the stomachs of your guest.
Don’t forget those drinks
Well, a party without drinks is like food without salt as it is a mandatory rule that you ain’t partying if you don’t booze. So bring boxes of beers and fill those big mugs with them. Make an orange juice, keep coconut water, pina colada, lots of lemon drinks etc., and don’t forget to add vodka to each drink. Those cocktails to sip on, are ready but don’t forget to keep them more as everyone is gonna ask for more and more. You can also make a pool of alcohol and let it open for those greedy drinker friends of yours.
The dress code is a must
After all the arrangements, when you call up your friends for the indoor beach party, you gotta warn them to follow the beach dress code. It’s time to put on the beachwear and shorts, bikini’s, sarong is a must to be the apart of the party. Also, club them with hat’s, scarves and don’t forget the sunscreen lotion. Now, I know it’s an indoor party but we have to pretend like we are in the sun. So greet your guest with those big sunscreen lotions.
Thus, a perfect beach themed party preparations are done. Now, it’s time to invite your crazy pals and just party hard at home on this no fry day and say no to the sun. So, run and get your party elements set and soak in the pool while not frying in the sun.
