Raging Cult!

Trend is the new culture for the youth today, with anything and everything adding to the hottest trends. I remember when the smartphone was introduced to the market, it had become a rage among the youth in little time. Then Facebook happened, which was followed by a pool of social media sites like Twitter, Instagram etc., and then something called trend culture was born. From hot DPs to parties, tweets to opinions, every random thing added to the cool quotient. Then came the photo sharing trend, where everyone became a photographer. Even this was less for our youth as video sharing like ‘Dubmash,’ became the new trend. Awestruck by our youth’s love for trends, we did a survey on some latest trends that have taken the youth today by storm and this article happened. So why not take a quick look through.

Sex Roulette:

Now, we know that our youth is vibrant and bold, and sex is no more a taboo for them. While it has been a common thing amidst couples, the orgies and sex parties have become a new fashion. But, the youngsters have gone overboard and introduced a new craze in the form of Sex Roulette. Well, this is basically an orgy, wherein the youth calls at least one HIV-positive to join them. Sounds like the youth doesn’t fear the transmission of the deadly virus and are playing with their life in the name of being cool.

Vaping:

Smoking a cigarette has always been a craze amidst the youth, who think it adds to the swag. But, with cancer risk increasing, the youth was alarmed to keep in check their temptation to smoke. Then someone found an alternative and discovered a healthy way to smoke called Vaping or the E-cigarette. The new nicotine vapor, which runs on power, gives you the feel of smoking a normal cigarette and the youth began drooling on it making it the new trend. But a recent research by the Harvard University School of Public Health states that the tasty flavors used in vaping can actually severely damage the lungs because of chemicals like diacetyl. Well guys, you must stop risking your health at the cost of some smoke swag.

Rainbow is the new hot:

I remember enjoying the rainbow on a rainy day with a cup of tea and pakode. But, that time I wasn’t aware that our generation will be struck with the cool rainbow hairstyle, with everyone donning that rainbow colored hair which has now become a craze. By the time I was over the hair hangover, I just learnt about the rainbow food delicacies and now the rainbow eyelashes. Now, we won’t have to wait for the monsoons, to see a rainbow.

Roast me Selfie:

Dude, don’t know why we find those slangs and abusive content amusing. Well, we blamed the MTV Roadies and Raghu Raman for it, but now Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor’s roast has enlightened our youth so much that they have made it a new trend in the form of the ‘Roast me’ selfie. So basically these talented pals have discovered a unique way of insulting themselves by inviting people to it. Now, it is simple! You just got to snap your pic with a Roast me placard and share this picture on your FB or Instagram account with caption #Roastme and the countdown of insults begin. So if you find one of your friends doing such crazy stuff, then don’t be amazed, just dive into the roasting game.

Dating apps:

I remember a time when there were Shaadi.com and Bharatmatrimony.com that helped people to get married until the social media revolution occurred. Amidst the various issues, the social media researchers were working on, the relationship thing caught their concern and then dating apps were born. The youth not only liked this platform, but some even ended up finding their soul mates. But, when Tinder came, history was made and dating apps became the newest trend to bring two people together. And I was still hoping to use facebook to talk to that cute guy in my college.

The opinion giver:

There was a time we had opinion experts who shared their opinion on an issue, be it political or social. But today, they are seeking for an alternate profession as the youngsters have taken their job. Be it a debate, incident, movie, match etc., you will see tweets and FB posts accompanied by those interactions. Given an advice, they won't respond, but have an opinion to share on anything and everything.

The star on internet:

Well, we all love our Bollywood stars and there was a time when only their photos and videos, were a craze. I don’t say that they aren’t today, but the youth is no less of a star on social media. Be it stylish photos to outings, tagging friends to those check-ins, you will see the young crowd posting them on the social media sites like any star. Don’t you think showing off like a star on the internet is the new thing among the youth?

The philosopher:

There was a time when we were fans of the famous philosophers like Aristotle, Karl Marx and Socrates. We also studied about them back in school. But, if they were alive today, then they would have got a tough competition from the youth. From healing hugs to friendship and relationship goals, they have a philosophy of all kind on their platter. You will see these talented creatures existing on social media sites like Facebook and will enlighten you with their philosophical posts. Who said that only an alcoholic can become a philosopher?
